FESTIVAL: Geelong Waterfront Festival (official title, Audi Victoria Week) has entertainment all weekend on the Geelong Waterfront centred around the Royal Geelong Yacht Club. It's an oddly schitzo-fest, semi-free, with a lot of yacht races at its core, with entertainment aimed at the visiting yachties but made available to locals and visitors. You can enjoy watching the yachts while listening to free live music and buskers during the day - then pay to rock with the salts at night. There are 3 stages on the waterfront, with some top acts, and some duds, of (mainly imported) mercenary entertainers. Enjoy the free fun, but beware, Geelong's lovely parking inspectors traditionally earn their year's wages over this weekend.

There's the highly-competent Geelong West Brass Band among other entertainment, Rippleside is right on the waterfront and Geelong's feared parking inspectors rarely prey this far.
